WOOD WOOD
The Wood Wood design-trio, Brian Jensen, Karl-Oskar Olsen and Magnus Christensen, opened in 2002 a shop selling printed t-shirts designed by themselves and various designer brands not obtainable elsewhere in Denmark. Throughout the last couple of years they have created a universe exuding New Yorker cool and Danish underground; hence the collection balances on the borderline between avant garde and street wear. They collect their inspiration from the underground movements and create designer-street and work wear for the fashion conscious consumer. Since the brand seriously began to take shape the designers have had great sense of combining new trends with the underground-street and skater culture – from where the style also originates. The collection specifically draws its attention withits use of harsh colours, humoristic prints and quirky animations. Additionally, the use of simple khaki coloured shorts and trousers styled with sweaters shows that this womenswear collection uses colours, cuts and silhouettes is inspired by menswear elements. Since the opening in 2002 the Wood Wood shop in Denmark has turned out to be such a hip fashion spot that today they are primary suppliers to stylists and various national and international fashion magazine. At present the Wood Wood collection is available in selected stores around the world among others; Oak in NYC, Bodega in Boston, UK style in Moscow, A cycle in Tokyo, Azita in Frankfurt and naturally Wood Wood’s own three stores in Copenhagen and Berlin.
